8) Fred has three bags of apples and six more apples in his backpack. Each bag
contains the same number of apples. Altogether, Fred has 45 apples.
How many apples are in each bag?
x - apples in each bag
3x + 6 = 45
3x = 45 - 6
3x = 39
x = 39:3
x = 13

Fred has 13 apples in each bag
